How Appius works

From your investment Plan
to the next portfolio decision.

See how Appius finds opportunities, weighs them against your portfolio, and keeps existing holdings under review. Inspect the work and ask questions before approving a proposed trade.

01 / Your Plan

Start with how you want to invest.

Work through your goals, time horizon, and limits. Review and approve the investment Plan your team will use.

02 / New investments

Weigh where your money could go.

The team researches opportunities, challenges the evidence, and compares eligible ideas against your holdings, available capital, and risk limits.

03 / Your holdings

Keep reviewing what you own.

Your Position Manager revisits the reason for each holding. Portfolio checks flag issues, while the Dividend division reviews income history and estimates.

04 / Your next step

Decide with the work in front of you.

Read the recommendation, ask Archimedes a follow-up, or request a supported action. Review the details before approving a team-proposed trade.

The stronger case earned a yes.

A short-term signal pointed to a pullback. The broader trend, earnings, cash flow, and income potential supported buying Host Hotels. The team weighed both sides and approved the recommendation.

Why it matters

Approval came from weighing the evidence and checking how the idea fit the portfolio.

Where this leaves the decision

Portfolio selected the idea, Archimedes concurred, and the allocation advanced to user approval. You decide whether to proceed.

Keep in view

The weaker short-term momentum and mixed news remained part of the assessment. A supported recommendation still carries investment risk.

How the holding review changed.

Recorded action: Hold

The team kept its Hold view after the price fell following news. Revenue and earnings growth still supported the business case, with daily reviews against the recorded risk level.

The previous review

The team saw the price moving back toward support after a sharp swing. It kept the position under review while waiting for the price to stabilize.

Review the action before it happens.

A committee recommendation is yours to approve or decline. Archimedes also pauses supported trades, order changes, and material instruction changes for review. Check the proposed action and account before approving.

Direct orders are a separate user-directed workflow. A research finding, alert, or instruction is not an order.

Questions about your team.

What does Appius do after I invest?

The Position Manager reviews existing holdings using the original investment case, current evidence, and your Plan. Portfolio checks surface issues, and the team can propose holding, adding, trimming, exiting, or taking profit.

Can I bring investments I already have?

Supported brokerage connections can bring your holdings into Appius. The available reviews and actions depend on the account and connection. Read-only connections do not enable in-app orders through that connection.

Can Appius help me work toward dividend income?

The Dividend division supports income preferences, quality criteria, dividend history, and estimated income timing. A monthly target guides the division; it is not a promised payment.

Can my AI CIO do more than answer questions?

Yes. Archimedes can prepare supported orders, order changes, and instruction changes for approval. The app shows the exact proposed action and account before you approve it. Availability depends on your installed release and account permissions.

Does Appius trade without my approval?

Team-proposed trades require your approval. Alerts and research findings do not authorize orders. On read-only connections, any trading must happen through the available external broker workflow.

How often does the team work?

Research cadence and review capacity depend on your subscription and enabled features. Check the current limits in your account. A scheduled cycle does not guarantee a new recommendation.

Are these examples my recommendations?

No. They are dated records or labeled illustrations selected to show how Appius works. Their environment and assumptions are shown with the example. Nothing on this site places a trade.
